Trackd® is one of the premier professional analysis programs for gait analysis, bio-medicine and realistic animation. It is used for sports medicine and training, movie animation, and video games. It is the software that allows doctors to evaluate the walking deficiencies of their patients. Movie animators use it to simulate the subtle motions of groups of actors. Engineers use it to see how workers interact with machinery.  Researchers use it to study the movement of animals so they can design more efficient walking and flying robots.

Trackd® supports Vicon’s latest 3D motion tracking technology such as NaturalPoint OptiTrack trackers, WorldViz PPT trackers, and USB gamepads and joysticks. It is an application that takes information from a variety of tracking and input devices, such as virtual wands and joysticks, and makes that information available for other applications to use. Supported devices include DirectX® joysticks or gamepads, Fakespace PINCH® Gloves, SpaceBalls, virtual wands and more.

Developers can use trackd® to add support for a full range of virtual interaction devices without the need to write new hardware drivers. The generic Application Programmers Interface, called trackdAPI, provides this functionality.

The new drivers will support the following operating systems:

  • Linux (32-bit and 64-bit)
  • Windows XP
  • Windows XP x64
  • Windows 7

Additionally, the new drivers allow client/server networking for information sharing across diverse computer and network operating systems.
