Stream High Def from PC to TV Wirelessly!

Imation has released a new PC to TV streaming device. While all of these kinds of devices are nice, most of them don’t have decent drivers to make them compatible with the latest operating systems. This new gadget is a wireless designed to stream content from both PCs and Macs to TVs and projectors.

The Imation link lets you steam high definition video, high definition photographs and true stereo sound from your PC to your TV wirelessly. Cool! No more cable to trip over on the living room floor. This device was designed to provide a more secure method of streaming content wirelessly.

Get this. The gadget had internet capability so you can stream YouTube, Hulu and Skype to the big screens. Great for parties! You can get this cool device for around $150 which in my opinion is reasonable.

According to Jason Elles, global brand manager for Imation, “Because the link uses wireless USB 2.0, an industry standard ultra-wide band technology, it is a reliable and secure way to stream digital audio and video assets, making it perfect for both home or business use,”

Best of all, all the necessary drivers are preloaded on the USB transmitter so you don’t need to download anything. It also has Mac drivers on an enclosed CD.  It should work straight out of the box but you’ll have to download the upgrades when the company adds new features.

Imation has introduced this device to compete with  the technology that windows 7 has built into its operating system. In my experience, dedicated devices usually have better performance and reliability than stuff packaged as part of the operating system.

Let me know what experiences you have with this new device.
