Onkyo has introduced three new receivers that are THX\u00ae Select2 Plus\u2122 certified and offers the latest features to support multi-room set-ups, network audio streaming, iPhone\/iPod-compatible USB, and fully immersive 3D capable home theater with multidimensional surround sound. The new receivers also come with seven HDMI 1.4 connections that are compatible with the new 3D video formats as well as being compatible with the mandatory 3D formats for broadcast content called \u201cSide-By-Side (Half)\u201d and \u201cTop-and-Bottom\u201d 3D video formats.<\/p>\n
They provide \u2018upscaling\u2019 for 1080p inputs no matter what the original resolution and use CDDi Cinema to remove jitter during de-interlacing to produce smooth progressive scan pictures.<\/p>\n
An Ethernet connection links to your PC and can play MP3, WMA, WMA Lossless, FLAC, WAV, Ogg Vorbis, AAC, and LPCM audio formats as well as receive internet radio from all of the most popular sources such as Pandora, Rhapsody, vTuner, and Sirius Internet Radio, Napster, Mediafly, and Slacker.<\/p>\n
Each receiver is also Windows 7 compatible and DLNA 1.5 certified to allow audio streaming from other network-enabled equipment throughout the home. The Ethernet connection makes it easy to download driver upgrades in the future as new features are released.<\/p>\n
These new little work horses can manage up to 3 zones depending on the model for multi-room distributed audio. That means you can have full Dolby 5.1 in your main room and full stereo in two other rooms from two different sources using a an extra 192 kHz\/24-bit Burr Brown DAC for multi-channel audio processing and Audyssey MultEQ, to correct time and frequency-response problems caused by room acoustics by calibrating the speakers for optimal audio balance in the room.<\/p>\n
