Where Are the PC Blu-ray Drivers?

There are several Blu-ray drives drives for personal computers currently available on the market for around $100. There is also new software designed to enhance the quality of blu-ray on your PC available to watch  movies for about $100 although many of the drives come with an older version of the similar software. Most of the software available works for Vista and and although not guaranteed should work on Windows 7.

The next thing you need is a video card that supports the HDCP protocol used by Blu-ray to provide copy protection to make the movie pirate;’s life more difficult. Then, the card needs to support at least 1920 x 1080 pixels. Most decent video cards can have their frequency adjusted to match the optimum frequency for the TV set and can support the 1920×1080 resolution.

You also have to have a SATA connection for the Blu-ray player.

Now, let’s say you have everything you need from the list above. Will you be able to watch blu-ray movies on your PC playing through your big screen TV?

Probably not!

Why?

No dependable drivers that guarantee to support both the resolution and the HDCP protocol.
